Individual Counselling in Bristol

A safe space to explore, process and grow

Integrative Counsellor · Bristol (Beehive Centre, BS5) & Online Nationwide

I found therapy immensely helpful for my own journey, and now provide a safe space for others on theirs. I offer an accepting and empathetic approach, working dynamically to suit each client's goals and needs, whether that means taking things slowly or working more directly, so together we can create meaningful change.

I'm endlessly curious about people, what's shaped them, what they carry, and the humanity underneath even the most difficult experiences. That curiosity sits at the heart of how I work: rather than treating you as a set of symptoms, I want to understand the whole person in front of me, and hold space for however you show up and whatever your story looks like.

I have experience supporting people with:

  • Anxiety & depression
  • Loss & grief
  • Trauma & abuse
  • Relationship issues, of all types and structures

Am I the right therapist for you?

How I work

I am a kindhearted, integrative counsellor with experience working with depression and anxiety, grief, trauma, domestic and sexual violence, as well as relationship issues. I believe we are all unique and blend different approaches to meet your needs, often drawing on mindfulness to help ground our work together. I'm particularly interested in how our past experiences shape our current relationships, sense of self and patterns.

Humanistic

Working from the belief that you are the expert on your own life. This approach centres empathy, unconditional positive regard, and building a genuine, trusting relationship together.

Psychodynamic

Looking at how past experiences and relationships continue to shape present patterns. I work relationally, using the connection between us to help you understand and process patterns, rather than just managing them.

Trauma-informed

Working at a pace that feels safe, with an awareness of how difficult experiences live in the body as well as the mind, including specific training in domestic violence-informed practice.

Mindfulness

Bringing present-moment awareness into our work together, including somatic experiencing and body-based practices, helping you notice and understand what's happening in your body and mind as it happens, building calm and self-compassion along the way.

The process

How will we work together?

Maybe you're struggling with current or past experiences, or perhaps feeling lost, conflicted or overwhelmed? Together, in a trusting relationship, we can gently explore your story. I work with people to connect with themselves and go deeper to understand the underlying causes for their struggles. I believe therapy can support growth and meaningful change.

Inclusivity is important to me, and I have experience working with people from diverse backgrounds. I want you to feel understood, supported and stronger in your own sense of self.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a chance for us to meet, for you to share what's brought you to therapy, and for us to see whether we feel like a good fit to work together. We'll also talk through the counselling agreement together, covering things like confidentiality and how we'll work. There's no pressure to have everything figured out beforehand — we'll take it at whatever pace feels right for you.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. Alongside in-person sessions in Bristol at the Beehive Centre (BS5), I offer remote sessions by video call for clients anywhere in the country.

How much does counselling cost, and how long are sessions?

Sessions are £60 for 50 minutes. Get in touch if you have any questions about fees or availability before you commit to anything.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. Sessions are confidential, in line with my professional body's code of ethics, with the standard exceptions that apply to all therapists around risk of serious harm.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Many people come to therapy at a turning point, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or wanting to understand themselves better. If you're unsure, an initial conversation is a low-pressure way to find out whether it feels right, with no obligation to continue.
